Yesterday morning we put our brother and nephew on the flight back to Sweden. It is always a little sad to end a vacation together. I know we will see each other again at Christmas, but still……
After the trip to the airport I went to the gym, but it wasn’t as much fun when I didn’t have my usual company (Raimo and Linus) with me. But I had my final exercise and said Good Bye to Dave, the owner to the place that has taken good care of us. I was thinking about going to the gym today, but I want to bring only clean clothes with me to the next stop, so I decided to skip it.
Monica and I went for sushi last night. It is tradition that we do that while I’m here in California, but since Linus is no big fun of sushi we saved it until he left. The sushi in California is amazing, so nicely made and fresh. It is no wonder why I grew to like it so much back in 1987 when I ate my first sushi here, my first raw fish, even if I didn’t eat fish at all before that.
I’m now packing again. As I already knew (before I started to pack) I need to send a packet with clothes back to Sweden. But it is surprisingly small. I bought a big box, since I thought I have bought so many things, but I ended up using a box just a third of the size of the one that I bought. Good to know for other times.
My summary of the California stop is – it was the perfect family vacation. We have mixed lazy days with very active ones. We have managed to get along, even if we sometimes argued a bit about the decisions. And most important; we got to spend a lot of time together. J
